EA are aware that Star Wars: Battlefront is a rather shallow experience, but it’s meant to be.
“We had designed it to be a much more accessible product to a wide age group,” explains Electronic Arts Chief Financial Officer Blake Jorgensen . “So, an eight-year-old could play with his father on the couch, as well as a teenager or 20-year-old could play the game and enjoy it. It is more accessible. And for the hardcore, it may not have the depth that they wanted in the game.”

One of the reasons why Final Fantasy VII Remake is being split into sections is they are adding a lot of content, not just remaking the original maps.
“For instance, players will be able to explore many different areas of Midgar in this game that they couldn’t access in the original,” said director Tetsuya Nomura . “If we’re remaking this world, we want to add in areas like this and depict them with real detail.”
“Of course, there may be parts that are cut from the original for various reasons, but with all the new depiction that we’re adding to the game and the level of detail we’re incorporating, the overall amount of content is only going to increase. I’m sure everyone is anxious about the schedule, and we want everyone to get to play the game as soon as possible, too. Drawing the line on that front is another reason why we’re taking this approach.”
He also confirmed the rather pervy cross dressing scene between Cloud and Don Corneo will be present in the game.
