Well who knew Napster was still a thing? Apparently it is, and they are a “world-renowned” service and “one of the world’s leading subscription-based digital music services.”
Wii U owners will be be able to download an app from the Nintendo eShop, and if they do not have a Napster subscription (so that’s everyone then) they can sign up for a free thirty day trial.
“With the Wii U GamePad’s touch screen, will be able to easily search for a specific track, album or artist as well as browse by genre, top albums, tracks and artists, ensuring music enthusiasts can discover and play the latest releases,” say Nintendo. “The Wii U’s GamePad touch screen can also be used to access hundreds of curated radio stations by genre, artist, theme or mood, as well as Napster Playlists created by Napster’s group of resident music experts.”
Napster recently announced their consumer base has grown by 45% in 2015, reaching nearly 3.5 million global subscribers in 34 countries. To look at that another way, a little over 102,000 subscribers per country.

well, Napster, and a few other streaming services, did get a big boost recently when jayz’s, rich musicians want all the money, music streaming service bombed and he slagged off the other services like Napster.
i wonder if this will work as a custom soundtrack feature on the Wii U, like the music thing on PS4, or if you have to run the app on its own.
