PS4 Firmware Beta Sign Ups Open, PS Now Updated

A quick round up of news from Sony HQ starting with announcement that you can sign up to beta test the next PlayStation 4 firmware release. The test will start in early March and you will get to try out new features before anyone else, plus get an exclusive sneak-peak at the words “improves stability of some features.”

Finally, if you are one of those American types across the pond you will be pleased to know that this weekend you can play PS4 multiplayer games on the PSN for free! A whole weekend of free shooting people in the head! Lovely.

Oh and whilst we’re talking about Sony, the Gamestop CEO has retracted his statement saying that PlayStation VR will be out in the Autumn, rather than Q2, which is why we haven’t reported it.

  3. How come we don’t get any free multiplayer weekends? :(

    • Yeah, was kinda thinking the same tbh – I recall one happened a bit back, but I thought that was across the globe. Could well be wrong on that one though.

      Overall, it isn’t really any skin off my nose, but a bit of equality would be nice! :/

  4. Cool I tested the last Fw without major issues just a few crashes on certain games. I will be happy to do it again
