News Snatch: Street Fighter Clothing, Mother 3, And A Primal Documentary

While Tuffcub’s busy writing up a few other news stories, I figured I’d take the opportunity to do a quick little News Snatch of my own, and catch some of the news we’ve missed or glossed over from the last couple of weeks.

We’ll kick things off with a ten minute documentary on how Ubisoft have gone about bringing the Stone Age to life:

I’ll bet they don’t talk about caveman willies much. Ubisoft did, however, have a PlayStation 4 carved out of stone…

After getting us all into the Christmas spirit with gaming themed Christmas jumpers, Numskull have hopped onto the Street Fighter V launch, with a new line of themed clothing. There’s everything from baseball shirts and t-shirts to hoodies, caps and scarfs.

You can check out the full range here, but to be honest, if you want to be hunky, bearded Ryu, that shirt or hoodie isn’t going to be on your back for very long.

Buff.

This is an oldie, but a goodie for a certain cachet of old school fans. Rumour has it that Mother 3 (the sequel to what we in the West know as Earthbound) is in being localised for release outside of Japan some time this year. Having originally been released on Game Boy Advance in 2006, it had a Wii U Virtual Console release at the end of last year in Japan.

Eurogamer reported on a now deleted reddit user’s post, with Emily Rogers writing, “Don’t be surprised if Nintendo celebrates a game’s 10th anniversary this year,” and posting a picture of Kumatora from the game. That was backed up by a further source on Twitter, so there could be a nice treat for fans of the series in the not too distant future.

Rising Star Games have announced a new action RPG for 3DS, set to the backdrop of the Warring States period of Japanese history. In other words, you get to pick from a Samurai, Ninja, Monk or Rogue, with each of the four characters having a separate story and different gameplay. Sadame is out next week on February 25th, by way of the Nintendo eShop.

After spending half a year in Early Access, the quirky digital board game Gremlins Inc. is making its way to general release on March 3rd. Check out our preview and gameplay video from a few months back.

It’s been a year since The Escapists released – for good behaviour, I think it was – and Team17 have decided to celebrate with a free map. Paris Central Pen was added to the game on PC, Mac and Linux via an update on Tuesday of this week, and will be coming to Xbox One and PlayStation 4 in the not too distant future.

Paris Central Pen has been inspired by La Santé Prison in Paris, which was once home to Carlos The Jackal.

There’s a first developer diary, to give you a sneak peak behind the scenes of Conan Exiles.

Final Fantasy XIV patch 3.2 is out next week on February 23rd, and Square have been sharing some of the content that’s being added and changes being made.

There’s a new battle with Sephirot in Containment Bay S1T7 for top level players to contend with, while The Feast is a new PvP area, but there’s also plenty of stuff for newcomers. The Hall of Novice looks to teach players about roles, and there’s a new Mentor system, where experienced players can help guide newbies.

Meanwhile, in the “Real World”, Shia LeBeouf is in a lift in the Oxford Union…

Seriously.

  2. Apparently Skate 4 for Xbone appeared on a reputable Australian website retailer, but was then taken down. The box art showed Skate 3 download was included, which apparently Xbone do quite a lot? Release date was August 2016.
