Infiltrate The Church Of Darkness On PlayStation 4

The devil is in the detail as they say so whilst reading about the forthcoming story-driven action game The Church in the Darkness I was rather excited to see it’s by the same chap, Richard Rouse III, who made two of my favourite PS2 games, The Suffering and it’s sequel.

Set in a compound in a jungle in East Africa, the game finds you infiltrating The Collective Justice Mission which is led by the charismatic and intense Isaac & Rebecca Walker who preach “a progressive socialist agenda.”

“The game is meant to be highly replayable, and each time you play the motives of Isaac and Rebecca will change,” explains Richard. “You soak up the story through the town PA system, where the preachers share their dogma and beliefs. You find documents and letters scattered around camp which clue you into whether everything in Freedom Town is fine, or if bad things will happen if you don’t do something to save these people.”

  1. I was definitely more excited before i watched the trailer but it sounds interesting all the same. I’ll wait for more gameplay details.

  2. Looks like it’s inspired by Ti West’s ‘The Sacrament”
