Oddworld Inhabitants has lifted the lid of its next game, and it is called Oddworld: Soulstorm. The game is set after the events of New ‘n’ Tasty with Abe leading 300 Mudokons out in the desert. This group soon finds a drink but it isn’t as life saving as they would have hoped. Those familiar with the Oddworld series may be thinking of similarities to Abe’s Exodus, and you wouldn’t be far off.
Soulstorm is inspired by Exodus but has a deeper story to it, with more things to do too. Oddworld Inhabitants’ Lorne Lanning had the following to say in the press statement:
“There was a deeper, darker, and more sinister story that we never got to tell. Soulstorm gives us the opportunity to flesh out more meat on the bones of an original spine, but re-tell the fable from a very different angle. Abe has a long way to go and plenty more adversity ahead. Soulstorm is going to be a much heavier trip for him.”
No platforms have yet been confirmed for Oddworld: Soulstorm.
