Paradox And Obsidian Announce Tyranny

History is written by the victors, as the saying goes, and sometimes the bad guys are going to win. Of course, in the real world, this is often painted in shades of grey, but in the fantasy worlds of RPGs evil defeating good is much more clear cut. Following on from their successful partnership for Pillars of Eternity, Obsidian Entertainment and Paradox Interactive have announced just such a dystopian classical RPG.

Kyros the Overlord and his armies of evil have come to dominate the world of Tyranny, with its inhabitants forced to live under his rule. Playing as Tunon the Adjudicator, an officer in Kyros’ army, you’re able to act as judge, jury and executioner – I’m thinking evil Judge Dredd.

Though evil might have won the war, it’s up to you whether you use that authority and are fair in your judgements, or if you’ll crush those in beneath you further and instil fear. Those decisions made across the Tiers will branch and shape the land and its people, even spreading to the various factions of Kyros’ army.

Tyranny is coming out on Windows, Mac and Linux PCs some time this year.
