Check Out 23 Minutes Of Dreams From GDC 2016

Media Molecule sat down with Kinda Funny Games’ Colin Moriarty at CDG 2016 to have a play around with Dreams and thoughtfully recorded the whole thing. It still looks horrendously complicated and messy to me, but what do I know.

  1. I remember LBP blowing my mind in 2008, thinking it couldn’t possibly be as good as I expected. I get the feeling Dreams will be the same

  2. Stunning video. Still unsure how it’ll be received by the PlayStation community but I’m so happy it exists. Fingers crossed it does supremely well or, at the very least, finds a wonderful niche to occupy for years to come.

  3. Speaking as someone with little or no artistic talent but who enjoyed playing around with stuff like Deluxepaint and various animation and rendering programs on Amiga, this appeals to me in much the same way as it combines all of those.
    As for gameplay though, they’ve remarked that they are only now moving on from the toolset and beginning to build the actual game. The few examples they’ve given of gameplay have been very short and mostly so far have consisted of taking over a character and just making them move about or dance. They say they have plans for racing games, platformers etc so i guess we’ll have to wait and see but it does sound like they have a lot of work to do before it’s completed.
