It’s been a long time since the PS4 remake of Shadow of the Beast was announced, way back at Gamescom 2013, with Heavy Spectrum’s Matt Birch with a memorably passionate and emotional appearance on stage. That small team at Heavy Spectrum are finally entering the final stretch with a release date on May 17th.
Writing on the PlayStation Blog, they also talk about managing to hit a solid 60fps for the game and how that’s allowed them to fine tune the combat over the last few months of development. There’s also a dynamic theme for your PS4, if you decide to pre-order the game.

Barring Uncharted 4, this will be the first game I’ve bought this year.

I played this at EGX last year and was a little disappointed with the traversal mechanism. The game also felt as though it was very much still in development. That said, I am VERY much looking forward to getting my hands on this game. The new video above shows that the game looks very polished and ready for release.
