Community Chronicle: 01/05/16

It’s May Day today and bank holiday weekend, and it looks like there’s some rather fine weather to go along with it. Whether you’re stepping out into the sun for a little bit, tuning into the football, watching Lewis Hamilton try to make another comeback drive from well behind the front, I hope you have a lovely time of it.

The big news of the week was the armed robbery that saw a bunch of copies of Uncharted 4 stolen and put up for sale on eBay for auction. We even made a point of asking Naughty Dog’s Bruce Straley about the matter.

Thankfully, kennykazey‘s fears haven’t seemingly manifest themselves since this happened, but he said, “I guess sites like Reddit is not safe from spoilers then. Damn, and I don’t even have time to play the game until almost two weeks after launch. It’s gonna be hard to remain unspoilt.”

Meanwhile, Avenger said, “Spoilers are inevitable beyond the release date because not everyone will be able to play it straight away. It’s just a case of avoiding those spoilers, both before and after release.” Before asking, “Do devs really care about spoilers all the time post-release? I doubt it.”

Bunimomike jokingly asked, “Is there an arrest warrant out for Phil Spencer?”

There’s been an awful lot of teasing this week, with Battlefield’s next game set for a reveal next week and also a few leaks and teasers for the next Call of Duty, which is apparently subtitled Infinite Warfare.

Gazzagb wrote, “Balls, I was looking forwards to Ghosts 2.” While JR. wrote, “So they’re still set in the future? Urgh!” and colmshan1990 simply said, “Far more interested in that Modern Warfare Remaster than playing another shooter set in the future.”

Good thing that’s also rumoured to be on the cards, and as Voolar said, “Looks like it has a Remastered COD4 bundled with it. If there’s a playable COD4 online multiplayer, it would be worth the entrance fee in my honest opinion…”

How do you feel about these twin rumours?

Crazy_Del leads the charge this week, as he inches closer and closer to the Dirt Rally platinum that he hopes to grab this week. He hit rank 20 in the Gears of War 4 beta, which he loved, but perhaps more impressively, he hit rank 100 and has now got 10,000 kills in Gears of War: Ultimate Edition.

R1MJAW‘s still sinking time into Enter the Gungeon, having now completed all four of the character histories. Tactical20, meanwhile, has completed Ratchet & Clank and embarked on his challenge mode run.

A lot of people seem to be desperately trying to finish off games before the end of next week, with Uncharted 4’s release looming, and so alongside playing episodes of Life Is Strange, ron_mcphatty has managed to finish off Uncharted: Golden Abyss on PS Vita.

The trophy leaderboards are on a hiatus at the moment, so after a rather brief Chronicle, all that’s left to do is bid you farewell for another week.

  1. Of course they are trying their to complete backlogs before Uncharted is released…. who knows how much HDD space is required for the amazing game lol

    • I’m not, I couldn’t care less about Uncharted. I’m far more interested in the Afterbirth dlc for Binding of Isaac.

      • That is the nastiest name for DLC I’ve ever heard! Ever seen a placenta lasagne? You really don’t want to.

      • Ed McMillen (the dev) actually posted a picture of the afterbirth from his latest child on the BoI blog (who was born not long after the PC release of the dlc), it looked like a dead facehugger.

      • Nice! Exactly the sort of thing you don’t want to see with your games news! Luckily for me my wife had a c section, we avoided all of the ming and just got the babies :)

    • They used up the entire Blu-ray disc, with just 100MB space left… and that’s just the single player. There’s also a patch of a few GB to add a few fixes here and there, as well as the multiplayer game.

  2. I’d be all over a COD4 remaster, and a fully working online multiplayer…? They can just take my money now!

    • Me too, as long as I can buy it standalone and not only as part of a more expensive edition of what looks like another shite futuristic COD…

      • Yeah, I have next to no interest in these sci-fi CODs either – Ghosts was the last one I came anywhere near to enjoying… But a bundled remaster of MW would be such a draw, it’d be awfully hard to resist!
