Horizon Zero Dawn To Release From February 28th 2017

Extra polish required.

Guerrilla Games has confirmed that Horizon Zero Dawn will be released on February 28th in the US, March 1st 2017 in Europe, with the UK release following on March 3rd.  The studio has decided on releasing in 2017 to allow for extra time to work on the game, refining details and polishing it some more before allowing the wider public to get hands on it. Alongside the announcement a new trailer has been released, and this focuses on Aloy’s journey.

The trailer shows that Aloy was adopted by her tribe, and is considered an outcast by the majority of the population. Her motivation is to find who her mother is by venturing out into the world, and through the ruins of the Old Ones. It appears she has some link to the technology left behind after whatever event sparked humanity’s regression, but how that comes to be will only come about by playing the game.

Horizon Zero Dawn is a PS4 exclusive.

Update: Fixed the release dates across the various regions.

From the heady days of the Mega Drive up until the modern day gaming has been my main hobby. I'll give almost any game a go.

  1. No problem with the delay. Great trailer too.

  2. Seems odd that they’re delaying it yet still sticking date on it 8 months in advance. Usually we just get told its slipped back to 2017. Hopefully there won’t be any more delays as it looks interesting.

  3. I had forgotten all about this game. It’s looking really interesting, fingers crossed it can pull it off. There is an Enslaved/Last of Us vibe that could be quite special. Still think the name is terribly generic though, like a cheap PSN game!

    • I just thought how much this looks like Enslaved. Even has the giant Mechs.

  4. Really looking forward to seeing what the developer does with a new I.P, never took to Shellshock, Killzone on PS2 was ok, loved PS3 and PSP Killzones, didn’t go much on PS4 Shadow Fall though.

No issues with a delay, if it means it’s all the better game for it.

    I can wait.

  5. The trailer looks excellent, I hope it doesn’t turn out to be a generic ‘capture the tribes/outposts/towers’ etc game like Farcry turned in to.

  6. This game is going to be visually stunning with a mediocre story, killzone anyone

  7. Damn I was really looking forward to playing this, this year. This and WiLD but I think they’re actually going backwards with the development on that one.

I swear Im not watching E3 this year. What’s the point? They show us games that wont be released for another 10 years.

Hey here’s this awesome trailer for a new game that’s coming soon on Playstation 9.

What the hell happened to Dreams? I swear that’s been ‘coming soon’ for about 3 years. And what happened to The Last Guardian and FFVII? I think they just show us anything when there’s nothing else to show.

They’ll probably show us a trailer for a Crash Bandicoot remake this year that we’ll never actually get to play, ever.

  8. I’m ok with the delay, love the new trailer too.

  9. I wish they’d just call it Zoids and be done with it.

    • I just read that as Zionks…. damn Shaggy!

  10. Don’t know if it means anything, but I like it when the crow landed on the dino… like going back to its roots.
