The real story this week’s charts is that while there were some winners on the rise, there’s also a lot of companies and games losing ground to where they’d expect and like to be. Call of Duty: Infinite Warfare might still be number 1, but dropped 65% from its first week sales, which were already dramatically lower than the last few years.
FIFA 17 is up into second place, but only because Battlefield 1 slid 39% into third, and all three of these beat the highest profile new release of last week, Dishonored 2. That game is down 38% on the original Dishonored’s first week sales. Still, it’s done better than Sword Art Online: Hollow Realization and Eagle Flight for PSVR, with these niche titles coming  in 33rd and 39th respectively. Across the board, you’d have to hope that digital sales are going some way to make up the lost ground.
Still, there’s better news for the likes of Overwatch, Forza Horizon 3 and Lego Dimensions, both of which bounced up into the top ten after some nice retailer discounts.

The drop in Dishonored sales is really worrying as a fan of that genre.
It’s been advertised a fair bit so is it lack of reviews due to the new policy?
Maybe releasing after all the big shooters hurt it?
Either way it’s a great game so I hope it does well as I love games that give you the freedom to play how you want to.

The big shooters are not selling either tho. I can’t believe a huge chunk of the population has switched to digital so it just looks like people are buying less games at the moment.

Dishonored came out 4 years ago towards the end of the last generation. With 160m PS3/360s sold.
The sequel comes out now with less than half that number of PS4/Xbones sold.
Not really surprising sales dropped, is it?
