[UPDATE] New Death Stranding Trailer Shown At The Game Awards

Mads Mikkelsen.

After a rather touching tribute from Geoff Keighley, making things right and giving Hideo Kojima the award that was intended for him last year but could not be given in the wake of his acrimnoious departure from Konami, Kojima shared an early gift for his fans.

A new and mysterious Death Stranding trailer was shown, which only poses more questions than it gives answers. In fact, there weren’t any answers. A heavily set guy in a suit seems to be avoiding patrols by weird and twisted soldiers, while cradling an incubation chamber of sorts for a baby… and then Mads Mikkelsen appeared from behind a pair of night vision goggles. Not a single frame of a naked Norman Reedus in sight.

Oh, and apparently this was running (and broadcast) in real time at 4K on a PlayStation 4 Pro. Expect to see and hear more from this weekend at PlayStation Experience, with a panel set for 1PM PST on Saturday 3rd.

UPDATE: The “heavily set guy” is of course Guillermo del Toro, who will feature in the game alongside Mads and Norman. Two new posters have been released for the game.

Death “stranging” looks bizarre. Hopefully we may learn what on earth this is about soon. Looks interesting tho.

After the MGS V fiasco I’m not boarding the hype train just yet. This looks like an interest CG Movie though.

I have no idea what to think and that makes me excited. Plus, Mads Mikkelsen. He’s the best.

    Mysterious, compelling and distinctly oddball.
