After ten rather long years The Last Guardian has hit the shelves but it appears many of you are just not that interested as it has landed way down the chart at number seven. The team’s previous effort, Shadow of the Colossus, manged to hit number one.
The Last Guardian is not even the highest new entry with the Xbox One exclusive Dead Rising 4 making a debut at number five, two places higher than Dead Rising 3 which charted at number seven way back in 2013.
Activision re-claim to top spot with Call of Duty: Infinite Warfare and with all the big games now out of the gate, could they hold on till Christmas? Here’s the top ten, full chart coming a little later.
- CALL OF DUTY: INFINITE WARFARE
- FIFA 17
- BATTLEFIELD 1
- FINAL FANTASY XV
- DEAD RISING 4
- WATCH DOGS 2
- THE LAST GUARDIAN
- POKEMON SUN
- THE ELDER SCROLLS V: SKYRIM SPECIAL ED
- POKEMON MOON

MrYd
But The Last Guardian only launched on Friday, so is it surprising it’s been beaten by the other new entry which has been available for twice as long?
And 2 of those top 10 have been part of Sony’s 12 christmas deals, so they might have had a bit of a boost, if the charts actually counted digital sales.
I think what I’m saying is these charts are a load of bollocks, really.

The Last Guardian is being enjoyed by plenty of us, have no fear. Also, what MrYd said. Good point.

What MrYd says is (a) usually a good point, and (b) sometimes in the third person for reasons he doesn’t quite understand.

Dubiously put. :D

Glad you’re enjoying it! Is it as wonderfully heartwarming as having an actual KittenChickPuppy?
JR.
If your KittenChickPuppy punches you in the face every half hour, throws dirt in your eyes and never lays any eggs. Then yes.
Well ok, it’s not actually THAT bad. I was enjoying it until I hit several extremely annoying sections last night. One particularly #%!@$* part involving water has to be the most frustrating thing I’ve ever played in a game EVER. Good luck to anyone trying to complete the game in 5 hours for the Plat. It takes 5 hours to get past that one part! DIVE Mutha Plucker! DIIIIVE!!!!
Still, I am looking forward to playing it again later so it isn’t completely awful. If you cut out those really poorly designed sections it’s actually a very interesting game that stays with you.

Loving it so far. A few infuriating moments but they make complete sense. Trico and the boy are only just getting to know each other. Trico likes to do his own thing. Then again, I’m looking at Trico in awe as the AI (and animation) is out of this world, at times.
I feel sorry for Ueda (and co) with regards to the effort they must have had to put in to even make Trico, let alone everything else in the game.
Artistically, it’s stunning… especially in the open/outdoor areas.

I’ve read quite a few comments about Trico frustrations now JR, I think knowing they’re there and that patiently scrutinising the scene will help those of us who didn’t buy it at launch. Thanks for the comment Mike, what I liked most about Ico was the animation, character mannerisms and grand scale. I’ll get it at some point :)

So many reviewers had mentioned it, it was good going into the game. Trico was going to be a handful. He’s a huge, awesome “pet” in a way.
When you get around to playing it, I think the AI and animation is going to utterly floor you. Not sure when we’ll see it beaten. Maybe years from now.

The first two are still near the top of my pile of shame.
I’ve started them but never played for more than an hour or two.
I’m keen on going back but whenever I set up my PS3 I always jump back into the wacky world of Yakuza after a few laps of Wipeout.

Er for clarification I meant the first two in the Team Ico trilogy.
I’m a bit fuzzy being on pain meds after surgery!
