Playtonic Pays Homage To Donkey Kong 64 With A Yooka-Laylee Rap

Of all the many features that Donkey Kong 64 had to offer, the most noteworthy part of the game was the introductory rap which played upon starting the game. Many years on and some of the core developers who once worked at creating a range of stellar games at Rare have moved on to Playtonic Games, a studio that has created a spiritual successor to the beloved Banjo-Kazooie.

This doesn’t mean that Playtonic doesn’t have love for Donkey Kong 64 though, as Playtonic has unveiled a Yooka-Laylee rap which is obviously inspired by the original “DK Rap” all those years ago.

You can rap along to this video below:

Yooka-Laylee is releasing on April 11th 2017 on PlayStation 4, Xbox One and Steam, with a release date for the game on Nintendo Switch to be confirmed.
