Mass Effect: Andromeda Unlikely To Get Any DLC

How the mighty fall. Last generation Mass Effect was up there as one of the premier series available to play, and there was DLC content made for the games. This generation though saw Mass Effect: Andromeda get a tepid reception and soon after launch it appeared EA wanted to forget about the game. Now it appears that no more substantial work will be done for Mass Effect: Andromeda, with Kotaku reporting that sources close to the game have stated no DLC is being worked on.

Going further these sources also claim that a Mass Effect: Andromeda sequel has been scrapped as well. We know that soon after launch that a lot of the team working on Mass Effect: Andromeda where moved to other projects, and while that is a generally normal practice it felt quite sudden. So if you were looking forward to another Mass Effect game then it appears you’ll be waiting a very long time.

From the heady days of the Mega Drive up until the modern day gaming has been my main hobby. I'll give almost any game a go.

  1. That’s a shame. Not played Andromeda yet, but really enjoyed the PS3 trilogy.

  2. ”No DLC is being worked on”

Well they don’t usually start working on the DLC until after the main game is completed …and who knows when that will be?

Awful game in every respect — and I was a huge fan of the original trilogy.

  3. Such a shame, but I do feel Andromeda has been unfairly crapped on by the games media in general. I’m 35 hours in and loving every minute, and out of my (relatively small) group of online friends, everyone who has played it feels the same way.

  4. It’s almost as if EA rushed Bioware and their C studio didn’t get the time they needed to deliver the usual standard thus DLC not being viewed as worth the effort.

They said the franchise was on rest a few months ago, ergo, no DLC.

  5. Bought Andromeda, not played it yet but its reception across the board has not been good. Kind of makes me more interested in it to be honest.

  6. Well that’s a shame, i played it before the big patch and a few janky animations and one or two disappointing design decisions didn’t ruin the overall experience for me. It kept me engaged throughout and i was sad when it was over. The biggest diappointment for me was that i had to to set it aside when i completed it in order to wait for the DLC.

  7. Massive fan of the first 3 but i packed this game in after about 7 hours. Just didnt care for the characters or the story. The checkpoints are such a joke, that after i was set back 30 minutes on one mission for the 3rd time i decided enough was enough.

Such a waste of a franchise, please give it CD project Red!!!
