Star Wars Battlefront II Gets A Multiplayer Beta In October

Whether you loved or came to dislike the revived Star Wars Battlefront, its sequel is looking to take that game and improve on it in a myriad of ways. Luckily, you’ll be able to try it out before you buy, with EA holding a multiplayer beta for the game in October.

Spreading across PlayStation 4, Xbox One and PC via Origin, it will start on 4th October for those who pre-order the game, and to all and sundry on 6th October, running until the 9th.

The beta will feature the Naboo: Theed battle that was first seen during EA’s E3 press conference, with Republic clones fighting Separatist droids in the Galactic Assault mode. There’s also a Starfighter Assault battle, with more details on this mode coming in a couple weeks at Gamescom.

  1. Great news. Is the early beta for those who preorder on the store or can us lot preordering at shops get in on the action somehow?

    • At the very least, you’ll be able to play 2 days later if you don’t get access from wherever you preordered. Check with whoever you want to preorder it from, I guess? Amazon seems to be offering beta access. Game are offering it too, along with a special offer of “taking an extra 5 quid from you”.

And who preorders things anyway these days? Especially when we don’t know how much they’re going to screw things up trying to make more money on microtransactions if they’re giving away all the DLC for free this time.

      • I preorder the odd thing because I get caught up in the hype, and then cancel half of it because pre release reviews are pants! I’ll hassle Amazon then, ta.
