EVE: Valkyrie’s Warzone Expansion Out September 26th, Removes Need For VR

EVE Valkyrie was a technical marvel when it released on the PSVR. The feeling of taking place in space battles in maps that were littered with space debris felt great, though the game did feel light on content. CCP though are addressing that with the free Warzone expansion, and also hopes to increase the playerbase by removing the need for VR.

That’s right, you’ll be able to play EVE: Valkyrie in a more standard way. However VR and regular players will be facing off against each other. While that is a major change for the multiplayer space shooter other things are also being addressed. For a start a new ship class in the form of Shadow will be added to the game.

Unlike previously where you have to unlock ships once the Warzone update releases all ships will be usable from the start. Additionally the Gold currency will be removed from the game, and Silver will be reduced. Instead players will be able to upgrade their ships using XP, unlocking different modifications to customise how their ship flys and fights. There will also be Reward Capsules that give players custimisation options.

A new game mode called Extraction will be coming with Warzone too, which is essentially a capture the flag mode. Alongside the new mode there will be two new maps, Fleet and Outpost. EVE: Valkyrie is also getting a price cut down to €29.99/£22.99 to entice new players to join up.
