Mass Effect Andromeda has had quite the troubled existence both pre and post launch. From strange facial animations plus not really capturing the same feel as the original Mass Effect trilogy Andromeda can’t catch a break. Now BioWare has revealed that there will be no more updates for the single player portion of the game, with patch 1.10 being the last one.
Early in development, we decided to focus Mass Effect: Andromeda’s story on the Pathfinder, the exploration of the Andromeda galaxy, and the conflict with the Archon. The game was designed to further expand on the Pathfinder’s journey through this new galaxy with story-based APEX multiplayer missions and we will continue to tell stories in the Andromeda Galaxy through our upcoming comics and novels, including the fate of the quarian ark.
Our last update, 1.10, was the final update for Mass Effect: Andromeda. There are no planned future patches for single-player or in-game story content.
However there will be content still being pushed on the multiplayer side of things, which will include new missions and character kits. But if you were hoping for single player DLC well this news will prove to be disappointing.

Bit of a bummer but makes sense, really. BioWare should move on to its next project instead of trying to polish up an ME game that will never reach the heights of its predecessors.

That is sad news. I still got the M.E. feels from Andromeda but it did have some issues. It clearly needed more time in the oven before release but we know that ultimately it was their ambition for the project which let them down. They wanted to do ProcGen planets like No Man’s Sky and spent too much time trying to make that work. In the end, they had to abandon that and then rushed to complete the game in time. It’s a real shame, a blot that will probably keep the ME series shelved for the foreseeable future. Damn.
