News Snatch: Horizon Zero Dawn, ARKTIKA.1, Coco VR, And Christmas Jumpers


Hello there, it’s been a while but News Snatch is back after spending three weeks lazing about on beaches, snorkelling through reefs with turtles and dolphins, and has a pretty impressive tan. So then, on to the games news starting with a video celebrating 25 years of spine-ripping fun in Mortal Kombat.


Nintendo are ramping up production of the Switch to two million units a month, with the aim of shipping 20 million by the end of the year. They’ll be catching up with sales of Xbox One at this rate, good thing Microsoft have the XOX to sell.



What is Raiders Of The Broken Planet? A damn fine question as I haven’t got a clue, but you can find out in the video above.

Croteam and Devolver Digital have ported The Talos Principle over to iOS, and you can grab if for £4.99. The game features “an innovative tap-to-move control system, gorgeous 3D visuals, and an engaging twenty hour story full of cleverly designed puzzles.”


Sacre bleu! The French are joining War Thunder in the next update. The 1.73 update will add more than 30 French aircraft to the game from the fighters of the 30s to multirole post-war jet models, including some models that never made it in to production.

Improbable Boob news, but not just Improbable Boobs, Virtual Improbable Boobs! Senran Kagura: Peach Beach Splash has been updated in Japan with PlayStation VR support. You can’t play the full game in VR, instead you get to dress up – or more precisely, undress – your character in VR, choosing outfits and hairstyles whilst enjoying a bit of chit chat and oogling their flubblies.



Respawn are making a VR game for Oculus Rift and you might be able to get a look at it by joining their Early Access program by clicking here. They do state that the new game is not Titanfall or Star Wars related which is a bit of a shame.


The SNES Mini has sold by the bucketload and it looks like we might be getting a Gameboy Classic Mini. Also getting a revival: Tamagotchi.




Dead Rising 4
is getting DLC which turns you in a to load of Capcom character including Mega Man and Dante.


October 24th will be the day we discover some new content for Hitman, but it will not be Season 2 so don’t get too excited.



Agent Lazarus is now available as DLC for Agents of Mayhem. Did anyone actually buy the game? Anyone? It barely bothered the charts.



Horizon Zero Dawn‘s DLC is almost with us so here is a short video showing all the chilly landscapes you will soon be able to run across.



Big news: Pixar are entering the world of VR with an experience based on their new film Coco. Cunningly titled Coco VR the game will let you explore the world of the film with other players. It’s coming to Oculus Rift and Gear VR next month.



More VR news and this one is for Oculus Rift, 4A Games, the studio behind the award-winning Metro series have announced the terribly named ARKTIKA.1. It’s “a visceral VR first-person shooter with breathtaking detail and superior shooting mechanics.”


You can watch the latest episode of South Park, which acts as a prequel to South Park: The Fractured But Whole, for free. However, you can only do this if you are in the United States, but I suspect if you know your way around a VPN you can probably watch it from anywhere.



And Finally, those nice people at Numskull have expanded their Christmas jumper range this year. New additions include Crash Bandicoot and Destiny from the wolrd of gaming, plus Batman, Star Wars, and Guardians of the Galaxy.
