UFC 3 Announced With Conor McGregor As The Cover Star

It’s really not a surprise that EA would draft in the world famous Conor McGregor to be the cover star of a new UFC game, and that’s exactly what they’ve done for UFC 3. Announced today, the game will be coming to PlayStation 4 and Xbox One on 2nd February, 2018.

Of the decision, McGregor said, “Two belts, two covers – EA SPORTS got it right again,” referring to his holding of two different weight class titles at once.  “It’s an honor to be on the cover and I can’t wait to play the game.”

There’s a bunch of new systems in the game, including a new version of the Real Player Motion Tech in the game, that EA promise will be the most fluid and responsive motion system in an EA UFC game. There’s also a new GOAT – Greatest of All Time – career mode that will blend choices outside the Octagon with their performances inside it, letting you promote upcoming fights, light a fire under particular rivalries and more, as you seek to become the greatest of all time.

There’s also plenty of returning modes, such as Knockout Mode from UFC 2, and then the filthy sounding Submission Showdown and Stand & Bang modes, as well as custom matches in Fight Now Custom. A new Tournament Mode lets you bring together a bracketed elimination competition together, in which you have to deal with continuous damage and growing fatigue. Oh, and there’s UFC’s take on Ultimate Team as well.
