Killzone 2 And Killzone 3 Servers To Be Shut Down

Back in the day Killzone 2 and 3 were TSA favourites with regular meet ups for private matches, they were a lot of fun. Sad times then as the servers for both games will be shut off in the new year, although the single player content from both games will remain unaffected. Here is the statement from Guerrilla.

On March 29th, 2018, after more than six years of operation and countless battles between the ISA and the Helghast, the online servers for Killzone 2 and Killzone 3 will be decommissioned. The single player campaign for both games will remain accessible, but online play and related functionality will no longer work.

As we near the end of the online lifecycle for Killzone 2 and Killzone 3, we’d like to express how grateful we are for all the support and feedback we’ve received from the community over the last eight years. Your enthusiasm is what drove us to hone our craft and grow as a studio. We hope you enjoyed playing Killzone 2 and Killzone 3 online as much as we did creating them.

Maybe we should arrange one last match in Killzone 2 for old times sake. It’s on PlayStation Now and that has free trial so we could use that, what do you think?

  1. Who wants to dust off their old PlayStation 3 for a few rounds of Killzone 2 in the new year?

  2. Played a lot of Killzone 2 back in the day, not so much 3 to be honest. Im suprised the servers are still up, just goes to show the quality of the games.

  3. omg Yes

  4. Yep, never did the meets before but more than happy to join in for a few games in the new year. Great idea!

  5. The best online shooter ever. Nothing ever felt as good as shooting a helmet off, the popping a skull with that headshot chime.

Killzone’s needs remastering and new life. I still own the originals on PS3. Always felt Killzone was crying out for the campaign to offer coop.

  6. Danny O Dwyer has a new H:ZD documentary on his Noclip channel on YT, covers a bit of the Killzone history too..
