Walmart May Have Leaked E3: Rage 2, Just Cause 4, Gears Of War 5, Splinter Cell And More

You can file this in two categories depending on how hopeful you feel. Category one is ‘These are just placeholders, a wishlist by Walmart’, whilst category two is ‘OMG THEY JUST LEAKED HALF OF E3!!!!’

Walmart seem to have listed a lot of games that don’t officially exist including:

  • Rage 2
  • Just Cause 4
  • Gears of War 5
  • A new Splinter Cell game
  • A new Assassin’s Creed Game
  • Forza Horizon 5
  • Destiny Comet
  • Borderlands 3
  • LEGO DC Villans

So the question is how legitimate is the list? Out of the all the titles Rage 2 seems stand out, the game didn’t sell all that well so a sequel has never seemed likely, and Gearbox are busy with Borderlands 3. Rumours of a new Splinter Cell game have been doing the rounds, so we tick that one, and we’re expecting a new Gears and Forza – though this should be Forza Horizon 4 – so ticks for them as well, and Borderlands hasn’t officially been announced but Gearbox have been talking about it for quite a while.

The new Assassin’s Creed game is probably a placeholder for a Game of the Year edition of Origins, so tick again, Destiny Comet will be the big expansion launching later this year, tick once more, and LEGO DC Villains leaked a few months ago (Walmart need to use a spellchecker.)

That leaves us with Just Cause 4. Avalanche have been very quiet recently but job listings for the studio do point towards a fourth Just Cause game.

All the titles on Walmart have placeholder box art, and along with the games above they have NBA 2k19, The Division 2, Insurgency: Sandstorm, and a load of other games we already know are coming. The only thing that makes me think this may be a wishlist rather than a leak is that Beyond Good & Evil 2 is listed and development on that has barely even started.

UPDATE: Walmart have now deleted all the game listings.

News Editor, very inappropriate, probs fancies your dad.

  1. Criticises another websites spelling mistake while explaining they have “palceholder” box art… ;-)

  2. Well, we’re due for an Assassin’s Creed game, because there’s a 2 in the year. And we haven’t had a proper one since 2015 (just remasters and things pretending to be AC games)

And Borderlands 3 has to happen at some point. Not having another Borderlands is not an option.

I suppose “add 1 or more random words after the word Lego” stands about a 50% chance of coming up with something that happens, because there seems to be nothing left that hasn’t been made into a Lego game.

And Just Cause 4 shouldn’t be a thing after the broken mess the 3rd one ended up being.

Plus none of those appear to be on their website now anyway. Did anyone other than some random twitter account see them?

    • Walmart have now deleted everything, they were there I grabbed the images above from the listing :)

      • I didn’t know if you’d grabbed the images yourself, or chopped up the image from Twitter.

      • I do do a bit of fact checking y’know

  3. Sequels, sequels, sequels.

  4. I’m quite looking forward to the possibility of a Just Cause 4. It can’t be any worse than the third game (unless it’s some Battle Royale rubbish) and Just Cause 2 was just so damn fun. I’m Just Causeiously optimistic. Yep.

    • It could be worse, but then it’d be a slideshow of some explosions, rather than just some very slow explosions.

Although since there hasn’t been any attempt to fix JC3, I’m not even remotely optimistic.

Shame, because there was a good game under the broken mess.

  5. Going to be very interesting to see which ones of these are true to be announced at E3.
Some obviously got leaked erlier, but the ones that haven’t…
