Days Gone Will Be Out In February 2019

Set to be conspicuously absent from this year’s E3 press conference, Sony have used their string of pre-E3 announcements to reveal the release date for Bend Studios’ open world biker gang zombie apocalypse game. Days Gone will be releasing for PlayStation 4 on 22nd February 2019.

Sony also took the opportunity to reveal the Rippers – a colloquialism based off the cult’s full name Rest in Peace. They’re Freaker (zombie) worshipping humans that dress like Freakers and kill anyone that isn’t a Ripper.

In addition to these new enemies are three friendlies  William “Boozer” Gray (Jim Pirri) who was in the original 2016 trailer and a brotherly character to Deacon. Alkai Turner (Jonathan Joss) is then an arms dealer at Hotsprings, and Ada Tucker (DeeDee Rescher) is a former prison matron.

  1. So we didn’t do too well on the predictions then? Nobody could see Tetris coming, and everyone had forgotten Days Gone was a thing?

Still got a new PS4 and a PSVR game to be announced. And the “eagerly anticipated” game could be just about anything now.

  2. Yeah, not blown away by the announcements so far.

  3. Glancing at the reception of this, I don’t quite get why people are turned off. It looks pretty decent. If they make a very deep and interactive open world, it’ll certainly be a game I’ll pick up. Fingers crossed they don’t ruin it in the bowels of linearity though.

  4. It’ll be released exactly 7 years after their last release, Uncharted: Golden Abyss.

  5. Not really feeling the excitement for whatever reason but I’m sure I’ll try it out when it eventually surfaces.

That said, despite being a playstation adopter since 1995 I’ve never been a big fan of their exclusives. It’s mostly just company, console and control preference.
