The Elder Scrolls: Blades Is A Full RPG For iOS & Android

Some games hammer home just how far phones have come in the last decade. The Elder Scrolls: Blades is a full on Elder Scrolls RPG for mobile phone. It features gorgeous 3D graphics that put games of even a few years ago to shame, and a scope that’s kind of mind blowing. Oh, and it’ll be free when it launches later this year.

Here’s the presentation from Betehesda’s E3 conference:

The core RPG play features both tap to move and digital sticks to explore dungeons and the world – there’s a combination of handcrafted and procedural dungeons – and with combat a mixture of melee and spells that follows your touch inputs directly. You can play in both landscape and portrait mode on your phone.

There’s three modes, the roguelite Abyss that’s all procedurally generated, the 1v1 battles of Arena, and Town, which is the main mode of the game. The town is your hub world where you’ll get quests and head out adventuring, before returning to rebuild your town how you want.

However, they’re looking to bring it to more than just phones. They want to put this on PC, on console, and even on VR, whether that’s mobile-based Gear VR or something like PlayStation VR.
