Ghost Of Tsushima Gets A Gorgeous E3 Gameplay Trailer

It was the turn of Ghosts of Tsushima to take its go in the E3 spotlight, with Sony’s press conference showcasing a dive into some of the gameplay we can expect from Sucker Punch’s samurai opus.

The game seems to be open world, with Jin, the central character looking to extricate a hostage from an enemy stronghold in the midst of the Mongol invasion. Beginning in the Otsuna Grassland, and travelling some distance via horseback, sword combat is clearly a major part of the experience and it’ll be interesting to find out whether it has the depth of something like For Honor, or whether it’ll be a a spot more accessible like the studio’s previous work.

In the trailer Jin is assisted by the archer Masako, but things soon turn ugly when it comes to light that the hostage you mean to save betrayed your companion’s family. I guess that in the game this will open some choices as to whether you allow the monk to leave, but here it culminates in a battle between Jin and Maskao. It’s safe to say that the entire thing looks fantastic, while retaining a certain Sucker Punch-ness to the game’s animation.
