PS2 Classic Onimusha: Warlords Is Coming To PS4, Xbox One, PC And Switch

Capcom’s Onimusha: Warlords, which apparently a PlayStation 2 classic although I’ve never heard of it, is going to be shoved through the HDifier machine and released on PlayStation 4, Xbox One, Switch, and PC. Characters, environments and cinematics will be getting a visual upgrade, and you will be able to play in both widescreen or the original 4:3 display.

The game will also let you play the easy mode from the very start (it was locked in the original game), analogue stick support, a screen scroll features, and include a brand new soundtrack and new Japanese voice acting.

Here’s a plot summary:

Set in feudal Japan after the perceived death of the evil lord Nobunaga Oda, Onimusha: Warlords recounts the story of the samurai Samanosuke Akechi and ninja Kaede on a mission to save Princess Yuki, following her plea for help after mysterious demons invade her castle. As the two race to her aid, they unravel a demonic plot unlike anything they have witnessed before.

Onimusha: Warlords  will be released on 15th January as a digital-only release.

  1. Pardon my language but @&#* YES! Onimusha was excellent ?

  2. Seriously, you’ve never heard of this! This was an absolute classic. If this is a success I wonder if we’ll get a remake of the sequel like Resident Evil HD and the upcoming remake of RE2…..

  3. Though I’d heard of these games, I’d never played them. Now I’m currently well and truly stuck into the excellent Nioh and watching that video it’s very easy to see where Nioh got its inspiration from.

  4. This is awesome news! Capcom were pumping out classic after classic for a while there. Dino Crisis next please!
