Another day, another Assassin’s Creed: Odyssey trailer. This one manages to be rather more illuminating than the usual action-fest that make up the footage for these videos.
Here, two different players recount their different experiences when playing the game – based on the choices they made when dealing with issues as varied as controlling a plague or belief in the gods. Whilst the options are strictly binary, they are not so easily categorised as being the ‘good’ choice or the ‘bad’ choice. In one example, the ramifications for a seemingly virtuous course of action are both disastrous and devastating.
It will be interesting to see if Ubisoft can balance these moral complexities for the full run time, once Assassin’s Creed Odyssey is released for PS4, Xbox One and PC on October 6th.
