Horizon Zero Dawn: The Board Game Has Been Successfully Kickstarted

It's beautiful.

Before reading any further, prepare yourself. Prepare yourself for a geek-gasm of such epic proportions that you may well be blown half-way across the room.

Check this out: Horizon Zero Dawn: The Board Game.

Right, pick yourself up off the floor and return to your previous position.

With the campaign closing at the end of last week, Horizon Zero Dawn: The Board Game has now been fully funded on Kickstarter to the tune of £1,393,260. Developed by Steamforged Games Ltd – who have also released Dark Souls and Resident Evil tabletop games, HZD: TBG is a ”semi co-operative tactical action game for 1-4 players designed in the rich and unique Horizon Zero Dawn universe”.

The miniature design work is, quite frankly, mind bogglingly good – with Bellowbacks, Behemoths and Stormbirds rendered to near perfection.

There’s an all-in late pledge still available at an eye-watering £280 but just look at all the gorgeousness you’ll get with it.

Horizon Zero Dawn: The Board Game is due for release in 2020.

  1. As a keen Kickstarter, I would urge caution against jumping into expensive miniature games without doing some research and making sure you are happy with the idea it may turn out to be crap! Using the Dark Souls Boardgame as an example, there is no guarantee you will be getting a game worth the money you put in. There are some games that are fantastic and difficult to source afterwards, but they are few and far between.
