Plenty Of Katana Waving In Action Packed Onimusha: Warlords Trailer

What do you mean you can't move the camera?

Back in the day Onimusha: Warlords was kind of a big deal. Launching on PS2 a shocking seventeen years ago – wow, that makes me feel crinkly – Onimusha took the successful template of Resident Evil and applied feudal Japan, honourable samurai and mythological demons to the formula. There was some excellent, for the time, katana-based combat and whilst the fixed camera frustrated, I remember having a lot of fun with the game.

It’s seeing a re-release for PS4, PC, Switch and Xbox One on January 15th, with some minor improvements; visuals have seen an HD upgrade, there’s a new soundtrack, analogue control is now available and easy mode is selectable from the get-go.

If you’re a youngster and never seen or heard of Onimusha before, then this Action Gameplay trailer should tell you all you need to know.

So many rich games from the past that deserve remastering. This as a series being one of them. Day one, no doubt and for y’all youngsters that have never heard of Onimusha, get involved.

It’s great to see the Onimusha series finally make an appearance this gen at least, even if it’s a re-release. Wonder if they’ll do Onimusha 2 and 3 also?
