The Westworld Mobile Game Is Shutting Down After Fallout Shelter Lawsuit Settlement

After “amicably resolved” the lawsuit over the Westworld mobile game copying code from Fallout Shelter, we were left scratching our heads as to what the actual resolution was. Bethesda had alleged that Behaviour Interactive, the developer of both games, had reused game code in contravention of their contract for Fallout Shelter. So with Bethesda, Warner and Behaviour effectively just dropping it, what did that mean?

Well, Westworld has now been earmarked for closure. It’s been removed from the iOS and Google app stores as of Tuesday, and will officially be shut down on 16th April, at which point you will no longer be able to make in-game purchases or use in-game currency.

It could simply be a case that Warner decided that the game wasn’t profitable enough to continue, that this is a direct result of the lawsuit’s end, or a mixture of the two. We don’t know, so have fun jumping to your own conclusions!

  1. There was a lot of hype about the game before release so I was looking forward to it but it didn’t live up to expectations.
