Sometimes, you’ve just got to pick all the buzzwords off on the checklist for your game, and Black Future ’88 sure ticks a lot of boxes. Coming to Switch and PC later this year, the game is a synth-punk roguelike dungeon-crawling action shooter. Before that gets you all “You’re joking… not another one?” it does look pretty swish:
Set in an eternal 1988, you’re on a non-stop quest for revenge against the man who made the world this way. You pick one of several characters then battle your way up a tower, whether solo or in co-op, fighting robots, cutthroats and bosses, dodging lasers and other perils. There’s also something about having to get the job done before your heart explodes?
