Cast your mind back to E3 last year and you will recall Walmart Canada spoiling a huge number of announcements by listing games such as Rage 2, Just Cause 4, as well as recent reveals such as Borderlands 3. Of all the games they listed only one has yet to surface and that’s a new Splinter Cell game.
Ubisoft’s CEO Yves Guillemot has been explaining to IGN why Sam Fisher has been absent from gaming collections and it appears there are number of reasons. Firstly, the team were under a lot of pressure during the last game’s development and that made the coders wary.
“Last time we did a Splinter Cell, we had lots of pressure from all the fans saying, ‘Don’t change it; don’t do this; don’t do that.’ So some of the teams were more anxious to work on the brand,” said Yves. He also said that employees in Ubisoft were more keen to work on the bigger franchises such as Assassin’s Creed.
However, things have moved on since then and Ubisoft are actively working on something Splinter Cell. “Now there are some things and some people that are now looking at the brand; taking care of the brand. At one point you will see something but I can’t say more than that,” he teased.

Old School
Splinter Cell died after Double Agent, which was pretty good. The last great game was Chaos Theory. Knowing Ubisoft it’ll be a open world, live service game, similar to Ghost Recon.
I just want an old school SC, or maybe similar to Hitman.
