It seems that, when Sony were talking about a new game reveal in their State of Play stream, they meant Predator: Hunting Grounds. In development by Illfonic, who are best known for the similarly asymmetrical Friday the 13th: The Game, and in partnership with Fox (now part of Disney), it’s coming to PlayStation 4 in 2020.
Predator: Hunting Grounds is an online asymmetrical multiplayer game, looking like it will try to capture the feel of the original film (and not the rubbish sequels and spin-offs). It pits a team of human soldiers in a jungle setting against a Predator with gadgets like active camouflage and heat vision. Doesn’t exactly sound fair, does it?
We’ve seen quite a few games try this style of asymmetrical multiplayer in the last few years, from the ill fated Evolve to more recent, horror game themed efforts like Friday the 13th: The Game by Illfonic and Dead by Daylight. Will Predator eclipse them all?
