DontNod has announced that it’s mystery themed Twin Mirror will be an Epic Games Store exclusive for 12 months when it is released on PC. Bandai Namco retain the rights to publish the game on Xbox One and PS4 though. The reason given for this deal is what you would expect and that’s the financial aspect of Epic’s store offering a better deal for publishers and developers when it comes to selling through its storefront compared to the deal Valve offers through Steam.
DontNod also confirmed that Twin Mirror has been pushed out of the original 2019 release window and into 2020 as the studio feels more time is required for development of the game. What we know so far of the game is that the main character Sam has woken up the day after a friend’s funeral with no recollection of what happened the night before, and a blood stained shirt. Sam needs to piece together the events and uses his Mind Palace to do so which appears to mean he travels through his memories and attempts to piece them together. It’s all a bit supernatural really.
There you have it then. Twin Mirror is a 12 month Epic Games Store exclusive, and it has been delayed to 2020.
