The July PlayStation Plus games have been revealed and they are….

The long dark days of winter are far behind us so who wants to be locked inside playing video games? We do! Bring on the lovely video game goodness Sony! Last month as was a rather decent month with Borderlands: The Handsome Collection and Sonic Mania given away as part of PlayStation Plus, what treats are we getting this month?

Well, you are getting Pro Evolution Soccer 2019 and Horizon Chase Turbo!

“PES 2019 is a good football game,” we said in our 8/10 review. “It isn’t a major improvement over last year’s title, but despite the lack of the Champions League it isn’t worse either. The matches play well, the modes are well crafted for the most part, and there’s plenty of fun to be had. There are some things that do need addressing which haven’t been touched since over recent iterations, but hopefully they can be fixed in future patches and updates.”

Horizon Chase Turbo did not fair as well but still scored a respectable 7/10.

“Horizon Chase Turbo is an old school inspired arcade racer that can be both fun and frustrating to play,” said Aran in our review back in May 2018. “When it is at its fun moments then the attitude of just one more race takes over as you become engrossed. When the game throws up its frustrating moments they can override a lot of goodwill. If you’re looking for an arcade racer then Horizon Chase Turbo is worth considering, but don’t let its charming looks fool you as you’ll face a tough challenge within.”

I think I will be giving Horizon Chase Turbo a go but I am not a fan of football, or indeed any sports really, so PES 19 won’t be getting downloaded. Both Pro Evolution Soccer 2019 and Horizon Chase Turbo are available to download from PlayStation Store on 2nd July and will remain until 5th August.

What do you think of the July PlayStation Plus games? Let us know in the comments!

UPDATE: Shenanigans are afoot! PlayStation Plus subscribers in Spain also get Coolpaint VR as part of the PlayStation Talents initiative.

  1. I’ve been really enjoying Horizan Chase Turbo but the overall line-up is still a bit pants.

  2. I don’t mind the occasional go on a football game, but the lite version of Pro evo provided enough for me and was already free to download. I’m not really that bothered to be getting the full game. I’ll give the racing game (forgotten the name already) a go and see what it’s like.

  3. Pretty wank month.

  4. I held off on Horizon Chase Turbo so lucky for me there’s something I will definitely download and play here.

  5. Another month that doesn’t inspire me to resubscribe

  6. Not as good as this month. I already have Horizon Chase Turbo on the Switch and aren’t that into football games. Oh well, I suppose it’ll be an upgrade from my copy of FIFA 14….

  7. Originally, I had planned not to renew my Plus subscription, which ended on the 20th of June, at least not for a month or two. But then I wanted to keep playing Bloodborne, so I sort of had to.
But this month is definitely not interesting for me.

  8. Nothing to tempt me back to a plus sub yet.
