Dauntless update adds Season 5 Week 6 challenges

Slayers signing in to Dauntless today will find a fresh batch of weekly challenges to power through. Every seven days these are refreshed, tasking players with achievement-like quests that can be completed for some extra points towards your Hunter Pass.

There are four new weekly challenges as per usual – each one encouraging Slayers to equip different weapons and elements while sharpening their combat techniques.

We’re several weeks into the current Dauntless fifth live season, it’s first since the game hit consoles last month.

This week’s challenges are pretty straightforward, though they’ll require a minimum of 20 hunts to clear all four of them. You’ll want to try and consistently stagger Behemoths, making sure you equip a Blaze type weapon. The only two weapon classes you should avoid when grinding these challenges are Chain Blades and Hammers as neither will contribute towards your progression.

Dauntless Season 5 Week 6 Hunt Pass challenges

Here’s a full rundown:

  • Blazing Fever – Slay 10 Behemoths using Blaze weapons
  • Furious Bombardment – Slay 10 Behemoths using War Pikes or Repeaters
  • Shakedown – Get 30 staggers on any Behemoths
  • The Classics – Slay 10 Behemoths using Axes or Swords

Completing any of these challenges will earn you 150 Heartseekers, pushing you towards the next rank in your Hunt Pass.

As a free-to-play game, Dauntless supports itself via the Hunt Pass, which mimics Fortnite’s own Battle Pass. As you complete hunts and cross off challenges, this will boost your Hunt Pass rank and unlock rewards of an increasingly higher value and rarity. There are 50 Hunt Pass ranks in total.

You may have noticed that the Hunt Pass has two paths, basic and elite. Those who pay for a premium pass will get upgraded to elite status, netting them even more rewards for ranking up as well as 50% extra Mastery experience and bonus loot at the end of every hunt.

Dauntless officially launched on consoles on May 21st, coming to both PlayStation 4 and Xbox One. It’s been out on PC for a while now – in fact this is the game’s fifth season of its Hunt Pass, dubbed “Hidden Blades”. This name is no doubt tied to the ninja motifs and other certain aesthetic touches.

With season 5 drawing to a close, hopefully Phoenix Labs will be sharing its plans for the next in-game season very soon.
