Get a look inside the TARDIS from Doctor Who: The Edge of Time

Doctor Who: The Edge of Time was announced in May with a short teaser featuring two of the iconic baddies from the show, the Weeping Angels and the Daleks. We now have another teaser and this one takes us inside another icon of the show, the TARDIS. It’s the most recent version of the box as Jodie Whittaker will be playing The Doctor in the game, so it is the one that looks ever so slightly like and upside down spider, check it out.

Apparently it’s took over 1200 hours to recreate the TARDIS, “The precise functionality of the controls are true to the show, all behaving exactly as they do on screen,” explains a press release, so assuming you know what buttons to press you should be able to fly the machine.

One extremely important feature has been rendered as well, “fans can access the infamous custard cream biscuit dispenser.”

The game won’t have you playing The Doctor but you will borrow her Sonic Screwdriver to solve puzzles and battle the classic monsters as you try to find The Doctor and overcome a reality destroying threat. You will be facing the Weeping Angels and the Daleks but there are new intergalactic bad guys for you to defeat that have been created especially for the game.

Head of Digital Entertainment & Games for BBC Studios, Bradley Crooks said, “VR is the perfect home for a truly immersive Doctor Who adventure. Fans and newcomers alike will be able experience the universe of Doctor Who like never before, working with the Doctor and facing enemies new and old. Gaming is a key part of the future of Doctor Who and allows us to tell new and exciting stories beyond the TV screen.”

Doctor Who: The Edge Of Time will launch on PlayStation VR, Oculus Rift, Oculus Quest, HTC Vive and Vive Cosmos in September 2019.
