CTR: Nitro-Fueled has double the number of PS4 players than Switch and Xbox One combined

Statistics pulled from Crash Team Racing: Nitro-Fueled’s Grand Prix leaderboards suggest that the game’s PlayStation 4 community completely dwarfs that of the Xbox One and Nintendo Switch.

Checking the leaderboards will not only show your ranking and scores (with individual boards for Championship and Nitro points) but the total number of players, too.

More specifically, this number reflects the number of racers who have connected to the Crash Team Racing servers since the Nitro Tour Grand Prix began earlier this month on July 3rd.

At the time of writing this there are 1,035,332 players on PlayStation 4. It is reported that the numbers on Xbox One are closer to 240,000 with the Nintendo Switch on 170,000.

With Crash Bandicoot having been on of PlayStation lead mascots back in the 90s it’s no surprise that CTR is most popular on PS4, the number of players there more than doubling that on its two rivals consoles put together.

While it gives us a good indication of how well the game has sold (as well as the breakdown per console) these numbers don’t accurately represent total sales.

There will likely be players who haven’t logged in for the Nitro Tour Grand Prix, as well as those playing offline. Then you have to factor in shared copies between different accounts.

If you want to bag yourself some new characters and cosmetics, the Nitro Tour Grand Prix will run until July 28th. Seasonal rewards won’t be available to unlock once this leg of the Grand Prix has wrapped though it’s likely these items will be added to the Pit Stop shop at some point in the future.

  1. If you have a Switch and you want a karting game, you’re not buying CTR.

  2. Ha ha, I don’t know if you know. But the Nintendo switch has mario kart 8 deluxe lol. Ain’t nobody gonna be putting all the hours into Ctrnitro.
