Ghostbusters: The Video Game Remastered will be out in October

One of the surprise remaster announcements was that of Ghostbusters: The Video Game, which originally released 10 years ago for PS3, PS2, PSP, Xbox 360, Wii and PC. Saber Interactive confirmed earlier this year that Ghostbusters: The Video Game Remastered was a thing after it leaked via the Taiwanese rating board and that it would be released this year. Now, Saber Interactive has confirmed that the game will be releasing on October 4 and it will be available on PS4, Xbox One, Switch and PC via the Epic Games Store.

IGN got some exclusive gameplay yesterday showing the boss fight with the Stay Puft creature. The footage is only 30 seconds long but it gives a look at how the visuals have been improved, and from this brief clip Ghostbusters: The Video Game Remastered is looking decent.

The Ghostbusters game has players star as Rookie, a new member of the Ghostbusters team, with the game itself containing the voices and likenesses of the original team too. You can read the full synopsis below.

As the new rookie on the Ghostbusters crew, you’ll team up with your favorite characters from the films, reunited by the voices of Aykroyd, Ramis, Bill Murray and Ernie Hudson as Stantz, Spengler, Venkman and Zeddemore, alongside Annie Potts, Brian Doyle-Murray, William Atherton and Max von Sydow. Manhattan is overrun once more by ghosts, demons and other paranormal creatures unleashed by a mysterious force, and only the Ghostbusters can drive this evil back to whatever dimension it crawled from and save the Big Apple. Hunt, fight and trap a variety of new and familiar ghouls and phantasms, all remastered in HD resolution.
