Masao Shirosaki briefly chats about Super Monkey Ball: Banana Blitz HD

Super Monkey Ball: Banana Blitz HD was announced last month after speculation began to mount after a new Twitter account for Super Monkey Ball appeared to mark the 20th anniversary of Super Monkey Ball series. Super Monkey Ball : Banana Blitz was the last console version to be released and that was a Vita exclusive back in 2012. There was also a mobile title called Super Monkey Ball Bounce which released in 2014 for mobile devices, but home consoles have been missing the monkeys for near enough a decade. Super Monkey Ball: Step & Roll was the last home console release and that was for the Wii in 2010.

Super Monkey Ball: Banana Blitz HD is a remaster of the 2006 title that was also a Wii exclusive, and now series director Masao Shirosaki has given his thoughts on bringing that game to new consoles.

In the little video he basically Masao Shirosaki basically says he’s happy about bringing the game to a new audience, and that he hopes he doesn’t spoil the work that was done by the team of the original game. Super Monkey Ball: Banana Blitz HD is going to be released on October 29th for PS4, Xbox One, and Switch with a PC version to be released in the winter.
