Syberia: The World Before revealed by Microids

A new Syberia game is coming Microids and Benoit Sokal have confirmed with the new game in the series called Syberia: The World Before. Not much has been revealed about the plot of the game except it will once again feature Kate Walker who will be travelling across continents as well as experiencing various periods of the 20th century. What we do know is that snowy scenes will return along with more puzzles, automatons, and characters.

Benoit Sokal released a statement saying:

Today, I’m very happy to be able to continue Kate’s journey and share this adventure once again with the team at Microïds. We want to give the fans a story with an atmosphere that’s just as mysterious as the previous episodes, with even more automatons to operate, puzzles to solve and unusual characters to meet. I can’t wait to share more of the game’s progress and universe with you.

Syberia 3 was the last entry to the series and Jim wrote in his review:

Flawed and often out of touch, Syberia 3 only serves a dedicated clutch of fans that have spent the past decade looking for closure to a beloved series. To anyone else, it will come across as a bizarre and mostly impenetrable relic that feels out of place among 2017’s slate of releases.

You can read the full Syberia 3 review here. The previous Syberia games were released on Switch to show why the series gained such a following, and you can read about those here. A release date and platforms for Syberia: The World Before is yet to be confirmed by Microids.

  1. Very excited for this on one hand but Syberia 3 was a bit of a letdown. Hopefully the devs have learned a thing or two from other, better games in the genre.
