Gearbox have finally confirmed the release date for the BAMF DLC bundle coming to Borderlands 2 VR. It will land for the game on PlayStation VR on 6th September next week, in a huge free update for the game.
The Bad Ass Mega Fun DLC pack, or BAMF for short, includes 16 pieces of DLC content from the original game, including the four story packs, the five headhunter packs and plenty more. Here’s the list:
- Captain Scarlet and Her Pirate’s Booty
- Mr. Torgue’s Campaign of Carnage
- Sir Hammerlock’s Big Game Hunt
- Tiny Tina’s Assault on Dragon Keep
- Mechromancer class
- Psycho class
- Five Headhunter DLC packs
- Creature Slaughter Dome
- Both Ultimate Vault Hunter Upgrade Packs
- Vault Hunter Heads and Skin packs
Additionally, Gearbox have also confirmed that the game’s exclusivity period on PlayStation VR is coming to an end, and that Borderlands 2 VR will be coming to PC this autumn. On day one it will include the base game and all of its DLC.
Borderlands 2 VR arrived on PSVR at the end of last year, providing a real showcase of how first person shooters can be adapted. At the time, Tuffcub said, “on a technical level the comfort settings and things like BAMF means it works really well in VR. Borderlands 2 VR is a good example of a VR retrofit, but it’s not perfect and not as good as just playing the remastered collection with a few friends.”
The lack of DLC content was a main sticking point, but Gearbox promised earlier this year to rectify that situation this summer, which they’re now following through on. They also improved the game in March with a few community suggested features, such as Aim Controller support.
All of this is, of course, part of the big run up to the highly anticipated Borderlands 3. After years of teasing, Gearbox finally unveiled the game at the start of this year, and are racing toward a release on 13th September for PS4, Xbox One and PC.
