Here’s a new trailer for Ghostbusters: The Video Game Remastered

The really rather good Ghostbusters video game is getting a remaster and there’s a new trailer featuring fans explaining their favourite bits. There’s quite a lot of gameplay as well so it is worth a look.

Ghostbusters: The Video Game was originally released 10 years ago for PS3, PS2, PSP, Xbox 360, Wii and PC. Saber Interactive confirmed earlier this year that a remaster was in the works after it leaked via the Taiwanese rating board.

You get to play as an unnamed Rookie, a new member of the Ghostbusters team, with the game itself containing the voices and likenesses of the original team too. You can read the full synopsis below.

As the new rookie on the Ghostbusters crew, you’ll team up with your favorite characters from the films, reunited by the voices of Aykroyd, Ramis, Bill Murray and Ernie Hudson as Stantz, Spengler, Venkman and Zeddemore, alongside Annie Potts, Brian Doyle-Murray, William Atherton and Max von Sydow. Manhattan is overrun once more by ghosts, demons and other paranormal creatures unleashed by a mysterious force, and only the Ghostbusters can drive this evil back to whatever dimension it crawled from and save the Big Apple. Hunt, fight and trap a variety of new and familiar ghouls and phantasms, all remastered in HD resolution.

The plot involves museum curator Dr. Ilyssa Selwyn (Alyssa Milano), who reveals that the architect who design 55 Central Park West, the location of the Gozo encounter in the first film, also designed the tunnels under the city which featured in the second film, filled with ectoplasmic ooze. The story uses some elements that were going to be in the third, sadly unfilmed, Ghostbusters movie.

The last full Ghostbusters game on consoles was the rather terrible title from 2016 which didn’t have any connections to the movies other than the name. That game scored 4/10, as did the game before that, Ghostbusters: Sanctum of Slime

You can pre-order the game now and Dan would like you to do that please.

That does look like someone has just said “Dan, just stand here and read this please, cheers mate.”

Ghostbusters Remastered will launch on October 4th and it will be available on PS4, Xbox One, Switch and PC via the Epic Games Store.

  1. Very, very good game. Hopefully they’ve done away with the online trophies. They’re the only reason I didn’t get the platinum on the PS3. I got every trophy but those awful ones.
