Bungie takes us to the Moon and back in this new Destiny 2: Shadowkeep video

I would fly you to the moon and back, If you’ll be, if you’ll be my baby, I’ve got a ticket for a world where we belong, So would you be my baby?

The classic Savage Garden track clearly was written about year 3 of Destiny 2 where you will indeed by heading to the Moon, assuming you have bought the latest expansion (ticket). In this new video documentary from Bungie, the developer and now publisher of the game, explains how their vision for the game is based on not just what they want, but what the fans want as well.

The documentary shows more of the Moon location which has had a few changes since Destiny 1, for a start I can see Scorn scampering around and they were not present last time. There will also be ‘Nightmares’, manifestations of trauma encountered by previous Guardians, and these can become real. Or, in simpler terms, Bungie get to re-use a load of old character models.

When Shadowkeep launches armour will changed significantly with new stats and new finisher moves, and of course there are a load of new weapons. The video also shows a couple of these including a rocket launcher that fires homing balls of void energy.

Bungie also explain that the story is connected between each of the four Seasons Passes which seems a little odd as the new monitisation model means you don’t have to buy every Season if you don’t want to. Each Season will come with a Season Rank and an Artefact, which is an ‘Infinite power grind’ which you will need to beat Champions in the Nightfall mode, Nightfall: Ordeal.

The video also has a brief look at the new Dungeon which will launch with Shadowkeep and it’s set on the Moon. Destiny 1 maps will also be brought back to PvP and new modes will be added to Quickplay.

And now… everybody sing-a-long!
