Earthfall: Alien Horde brings it co-op shooting to Switch in October

The 4 player co-op alien shooting of Earthfall: Alien Horde is coming to Nintendo Switch, a revitalised version of the shooter that first released on other platforms last year. The game will land on Switch next month on 11th October.

Update: Earthfall developer Nimble is not actually a new company, but a rebranded Holospark.

Earthfall: Alien Horde is now in the hands of newly-formed developer Nimble, who have taken over from original developer Holospark. The game will feature all of Earthfall and the various updates that looked to take the game forward, but also brings a new local wireless multiplayer mode to the Switch version. It will be priced at $19.99 on the eShop.

Previously released for PlayStation 4, Xbox One and Steam last summer, Earthfall follows in the 4 player co-op footsteps of Left 4 Dead, but with aliens instead of zombies. Unfortunately at the time it didn’t manage to capture the same high notes of those beloved games. Dom handed the game a stinging 4/10 review, saying, “I’m all for taking the spirit of a beloved classic and bringing it up to date, but you have to be prepared to be judged utterly against that original game. Under the right circumstances Earthfall is capable of capturing the frantic teamwork of Left 4 Dead, but there’s too much wrong here to maintain it for long.”

Of course, the game then evolved through a series of major updates that added new maps, modes, special aliens to battle and more. Here’s hoping the port’s a good’un.
