Best known for their flight sticks and racing wheels, Thrustmaster are entering the increasingly crowded pro controller market, revealing the uniquely modular eSwap Pro Controller for PlayStation 4. The gamepad will be available on 5th November, starting at €169.99.
The eSwap has all the features you’d expect from a modern pro controller and more. There’s high performance tact switch buttons, rear buttons so you can keep your thumbs on the analogue sticks at all times, you can swap out the sticks and triggers for for longer or shorter versions, you can programme different profiles using accompanying PC software – it’s also PC compatible – and so on. This is purely a wired controller though, ditching wireless functionality in favour of having the lower latency that this provides.
However, this is even more modular than its rivals, where you can often just swap out the stick heads for longer variants. Here you can remove the D-pad and both analogue sticks, shifting their layout, or putting in additional buttons ideal for fighting games. There’s even detachable grips, if you want to add a further splash of colour. Thrustmaster are creating bundles – such as a Fighting Pack with a circular D-pad and extra button module – and will be selling single modules so you can really customise the controller however you see fit.
We’ve had an eSwap Pro Controller in for review over the past few weeks, so make sure to keep an eye out later this afternoon for when our review drops.
