Something for the Weekend – 19/10/19

It’s been one hell of a week! From heading to LA for the Star Wars Jedi: Fallen Order preview event, to now attending Paradox Interactive’s PDXCON, and a lot of the gang being at EGX, we’ve covered a lot of ground.

So, now’s a great opportunity to catch up on the past week, not just for you, but for me as well!

In the News This Week

Games in Review

As I said, it was an absolute monster week for the reviews, I don’t think we’ve had this many in quite some time!

And here’s some hardware reviews:

This Week’s Features

Outside of the stream of reviews, the biggest other feature this week was obviously our hands on preview with Star Wars Jedi: Fallen Order. Having spent a few hours playing, it’s shaping up really, really very well!

I also got some hands on time with Need for Speed Heat, digging into the game’s early single player and playing with the online Crews system.

Tom tucked into The Witcher 3 on Nintendo Switch over last weekend, coming away really impressed with just how complete the package is, so long as you can accept the need for a lot of visual cutbacks to be made.

As always, we rounded out the week with What We Played, featuring Death Stranding, Granblue Fantasy and Final Fantasy 7 Remake.

Your Achievements

It looks like it was a quiet week for the community:

  • TSBonyman finished off an Uncharted 4 playthough, which was longer than he remembered, and then reinstalled Bloodborne but has regretted letting his PS+ sub lapse so he can’t call for co-op help!
  • Takyu had a good time at EGX this year, playing some FF7, Avengers, Streets of Rage, Predator Hunting Grounds and getting to see Cyberpunk 2077.
  • And MrYd continued with lots of PvZ, Hitman 2, finished off Far Cry New Dawn, and has been plugging away at God of War, but remains unimpressed.

The Week Ahead

And finally, here’s what to expect this coming week, with a few games at the tail end of it that I’m sure a lot of people are looking forward to!

  • Raging Loop – PS4, Switch – 22/10
  • Skullgirls 2nd Encore – Switch – 22/10
  • WWE 2K20 – PS4, XBO, PC – 22/10
  • Call of Duty: Modern Warfare – PS4, XBO, PC – 25/10
  • MediEvil – PS4 – 25/10
  • The Outer Worlds – PS4, XBO, PC – 25/10

That’s it for this week, I’ll see you again soon!
