The Xbox Germany Facebook posted a video back in July which listed Final Fantasy VII Remake for Xbox One with a release date of March 3rd 2020, the same date that was been announced for the PlayStation 4 version.

Marketing Communications & Social Lead for Xbox Germany, Maxi Graff, took to Twitter to give an explanation. “We did an internal mistake in the Social Team,” he Tweeted, “We took the video off immediately. Sorry, no announcement on our side. Big apologies for this.”

While fans await the first instalment of the remake that will allow players to explore a reimagining of Midgar Square Enix is looking ahead to the future, and what comes next.

In a Meet The Team article put out by the publisher some of the key developers spoke about the journey. One of those was director Tesuya Nomura who said:

We’ve already begun working on the next one as well, but I’m confident that playing through this title will expand your expectations just like the world that extends beyond Midgar.

Yoshinori Kitase gave his own insight and stated that Final Fantasy VII Remake was surpassing his own expectations. Kazushige Nojima, one of the story and scenario leads, made the point that with the progress in technology that the player’s imagination won’t be as critical when observing scenes within the game compared to the original release. He does state that not everyone may like that but he is convinced people will forge a deeper relationship with the characters. Naoki Hamaguchi, co-director, had this message for players:

For those who’ve played it [the original]: “new but familiar.” For those who haven’t played it: “experience the charm of FINAL FANTASY VII, which moved the hearts of many, now created with the most exciting modern technology available.”

Motomu Toriyama is more excited about how the world has been allowed to expand due to the jump in technology since the original game and is hoping people enjoy the expansion of Honey Bee which is now full of entertainment.
