Untitled Goose Game racks up over a million honking sales

Developers House House hit the jackpot with Untitled Goose Game, a rather silly premise that has captured the imagination of the gaming world and beyond resulting in exposure that no amount of money could buy. Memes, tweets, celebrity endorsements, and even an appearance during a Brexit march made the Goose the star of gaming in 2019.

Publishers Panic have revealed that following the surprise release of the game on PlayStation 4 and Xbox One just before Chirstmas sales have already topped one million copies sold. The game was also added to the Xbox Games Pass.

“The reaction was beyond anything we could have imagined. The fan art, the writing, yes the memes, protest signs, Chrissy Teigen, Muppets?! It feels once-in-a-lifetime,” they added.

In case you missed it, below is the moment the genuinely hilarious moment when Goose met the Muppets.

The Goose is one of the few gaming characters to reveal their political allegiance and urged gamers to vote Labour during the recent general election. Unfortunately it seems that despite his popularity the Goose’s powers are still limited when it comes to politics.

“At the end of the day – the long hard day of being a naughty little goose – Untitled Goose Game is something truly unique and special,” we said in out 9/10 review. “It’s a beautifully clean and simple puzzle game which will have you howling with delight, both when you play it through for the first time, and when you pass the controller to your partner saying, “You absolutely need to play this game where you’re a naughty little goose…””

There has been no mention of a sequel to the game but given the huge sales and the fact that Goose could do just about anything there may will be a second game without a title in the works.

Finally, why not have a bop to Lizzo’s “Juice”, reworked to blame everything on the Goose. HONK!

  1. Just got this in the current sale, as the game showed up in several best of 2019 game lists, and I think they deserve to be supported.
